Dave Aftandilian Thoroughly engrossing blackened doom ritual. In the endless darkness, an even darker shape takes form. All existence circles slowly, inexorably, inward toward this ravenous void. No mind can grasp it, no words describe it, no hope emerge from its fatal grasp. The air thickens atom by atom until it breathes that which breathes it, glowing the purest gold. Dissolution brings transcendence.

These musicians know how to drive music straight to the heart. Black metal is more than a cold premise for refined guitar work and multiple changes inside each song. Lyrics too are incredibly inspired and matching with music. Marrasmieli is a newborn flower, still covered by dew's brightness. Aallot is in particular a lesson of emotional crescendo, especially in second half of the song but in general, all the tracklist remains on the peak of the best inspiration. I thought Aphotic Veil was and still is one of the greatest releases I've ever heard, I love it. So understandably I was a little apprehensive about this release. It's awesome to be able to say that this full length is every bit as good. This is truly masterful metal with epic melodic doom death and black metal overtones. But there is so much more to it than that, it's just so well done, craftsmanship in it's truest form. Fraz
