David R Missildine Holy pipe organs! This is very unique and I’m loving it

spawnofchaos Spooky occultic doom metal with plenty of pipe organs. Fun, and short enough that it doesn't drag. Favorite track: Growing Shadows.
Weirded Beardo
Weirded Beardo thumbnail
Weirded Beardo While Lovecraftian lore will continue to serve as lyrical inspiration for many more metal bands to come, only few have managed to capture that ominous dread of the unknown like Burial in the Woods have done here. The blackened take on funeral doom augmented by the pipe organ here comes sonically close to capturing that cosmic dread Lovecraft thrived in. Favorite track: Growing Shadows.
Obstacle of Affliction
Obstacle of Affliction thumbnail
Obstacle of Affliction Be prepared to knee before the throne of Dagon as the Deep Ones watch. This carves it's own nitch within Lovecraftian inspired metal. Love the choir/chant vocals and organ which adds to the otherworldly atmosphere.
If you love Lychgate, then give this a try. Favorite track: Gölgeler Alemi.
Sonny92 thumbnail
Sonny92 Impressive Lovecraft-themed blackened doom that effectively produces an atmosphere of unseen horror and dread, of blasphemous rituals carried out in delapidated New England fishing village chapels as befits the source material. Favorite track: Forbidden Pages.
Metallurgical Fire
Metallurgical Fire thumbnail
Metallurgical Fire This is what would happen if Bach, James Kent, and John Carpenter formed a blackened doom band. Play this loud on Halloween and the trick or treaters will freak. It exudes creepy atmosphere without too much cheese. Favorite track: Growing Shadows.

The everlasting darkness has risen from the realms of the unknown and manifests in the "Church of Dagon"!

Burial In The Woods presents in its debut gloomy Black/Doom Metal with melodies influenced by both scales, the occidental and the oriental. This innovative approach evokes a dark, dense and creepy atmosphere.

Thematically, the first three songs are dedicated to the occult world of H.P. Lovecraft, the last track (cover song with Turkish lyrics) is about the realm of shades. How can this be better portrayed than with heavy down-tuned rhythm guitars, multi-layered lead guitars, a mighty pipe organ, real choirs and tons of details?
