___ ______ This album made me go back to their previous releases. Holy hell, all their discography is amazing! Now I think that is one of the best Russian Bands.

Epitimia's fifth album is an exploration of man's inner self using the medium of decent quality atmo-black with some nice dark folk interludes. Unfortunately, it never reaches the creative heights of previous double-disc opus, (Un)reality, but it's a solid enough release.
Metallurgical Fire
Metallurgical Fire thumbnail
Metallurgical Fire Epitimia has previously created unique and experimental black metal, that though technically proficient and compelling, hasn’t pulled me back in for many repeat listens. This album is different. It feels more powerful and cohesive, and the jazz elements are gone. The acoustic and dark folk elements are incorporated very well. These Russians have now crafted an album I will be returning to consistently. Favorite track: The Tree.

about

"Thread" is the long-awaited fifth full-length of Russian atmospheric black metal band Epitimia. With huge influences from acoustic and dark folk music in this work Epitimia
creates monumental depiction of man's inner experiences, sometimes deep and calm, but always filled with shades of a tragedy.
