Inquinok‘s “Dimension of I” takes the band in more of a progressive direction and goes away from the concept/fantasy theme of the first two albums. Lyrically the album takes a more personal approach yet musically the album has more of a progressive feel overall and much less straight forward Black Metal sounding. Overall “Dimension of I” keeps much of its dark atmosphere and melodic/epic elements of Inquinok’s past but with a more open approach to the song writing.

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. I'm really glad to have found this overlooked album. I think it follows the chinese style of black metal, but less folky and with more emphasis on the guitar melodies. The result is both epic and really beautiful. Peter Rabbit
